  About The School

Meyer Elementary School

Meyer Elementary is located at 2502 Ave in Hondo.  The school was built in 1956 and named after prominent physician and school board president, Dr. H.J. Meyer.  Since that time there have been several additions to the school to accommodate increased enrollment and legislative mandates. Meyer serves children from Pre-K through 2nd grade with a current enrollment of a little over 500 children.

Meyer Elementary is a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) school where we teach positive behaviors in addition to the required academics.  Students are expected to "be safe, be respectful and be responsible."

Parent involvement is a critical piece of student success. We provide many activities and opportunities for parents to be partners with the school in the education of their child.
